About The Bibbler

A Bibbler is a guard for the neckline of your baby's shirt. Instead of fastening around the neck, the Bibbler fastens to the garment, through the sleeves. It consists of an outer bib and an inside bib, worn similarly to tucking in a dinner napkin.

The Bibbler was born not long after my daughter started solids. After being completely fed up with neckline stains, I decided to take matters into my own hands and make something to finally solve the problem! Learn more about my story here.

Yes! I am so pleased to say the Bibbler is Patent Pending.

Currently, yes, all Bibblers are handmade and made to order. I am actively working with factories to get the best quality product I can find to order in bulk.

Once Bibblers are available in bulk, pricing and lead time will decrease and prints will change.

There is no current ETA on when Bibblers will be available in place of handmade Bibblers. For updates please follow along @hayandfin on Instagram and sign up for email updates!

Whenever you decide to start solids is when your baby will be the messiest, so I'd recommend using the Bibbler from the start! As your baby develops more control, you'll find the Bibbler is getting dirty less. All of this depends on your baby specifically, but the estimated target ages would be from about 4-12 months.

If your baby is over 12 months and you're still noticing stains on the neckline, keep using the Bibbler - my daughter is currently 15 months and we still use it!

Absolutely! The Bibbler protects the neckline from food and liquids, including drool.

Handmade Bibblers are made from 2 different fabrics: All prints are 100% Organic Cotton Sateen and the inner white lining is 100% Waterproof Nylon. I am doing my best to keep the fabrics the same or as similar as possible for bulk production.

The Cotton Sateen is super soft and will not cause any irritation on your baby's sensitive skin. The cotton fibers grab food to keep them in place so they don't slide past. Any liquid that gets absorbed by the cotton is trapped by the Waterproof Nylon so your baby's shirt never gets wet!

Yes! I am working with a graphic designer to create custom artwork for bulk production run Bibblers. If there's something you'd like to see, please feel free to send an email to hello@hayandfin.com or a DM to @hayandfin on Instagram!

Using The Bibbler

The Bibbler tucks over the neckline of your baby's shirt, similar to a dinner napkin that you would tuck in your own shirt. The inner straps thread through the sleeves and the outer straps lay over the sleeve. They snap together just outside the hem of a short sleeve. It is recommended to wear a silicone bib or full body smock over the Bibbler for complete protection. You can check out specific instructions here. Instructions will also be included with each order!

If feeding your baby naked at mealtimes is a comfortable solution for you, then you can continue doing so! The Bibbler may be helpful for you when you are feeding your baby out in public where you may not want to remove clothing. It's a perfect addition to your diaper bag.

The other reasons you may not want to feed your baby naked would be if your baby has sensitive skin and is having a reaction in contact with food, or you are trying to avoid the hassle of changing your baby out of clothes before a meal.

Yes! The Bibbler is both washer & dryer safe. Please rinse any food off and make sure the straps are snapped shut before laundering. Delicate cycle is recommended for best results.

This depends on how often your baby is dropping food to their neckline. For me personally, my daughter had food on the neckline of her shirts after every single meal, regardless of what the food was. It was necessary for me to make sure she had a Bibbler on every meal, every day.

Others are using the Bibbler for meals they know will be on the messier side, or primarily when feeding their baby in public. I suggest using them more often than not, because you'd rather have it on when it wasn't needed, than not having it on if it was needed.

If you do find you're needing the Bibbler for every meal, I recommend having at least 3 Bibblers on hand if you do laundry every day or 6 Bibblers on hand if you do laundry every other day. (Full disclosure, I think I made around 10-12 for my daughter with every day use - nothing is worse than getting your baby in the high chair and realizing all of your Bibblers are still in the wash!)

There are two suggested solutions for using a Bibbler with long sleeves. The first is simply rolling up the sleeves to around the elbow. The second is dressing your baby in a short sleeve undershirt with a long sleeve top over it. At meal times, remove the long sleeve top and fasten the Bibbler to the undershirt. Add a long sleeve full body smock so your baby isn't cold!
